In brief

How do Glucksmann and Tondelier differ?

Raphaël Glucksmann (Place Publique) and Marine Tondelier (Les Écologistes) take the same side on the vast majority of test statements where both have a sourced position. Both support a minimum tax of 2% on fortunes above 100 million euros and bringing back a wealth tax, going back to a retirement age of 62 or lower, a minimum wage of at least 1,600 euros a month after deductions, rent controls and legal status for undocumented workers who have a job. On Europe and defence, they want the European Union to take more decisions by majority, to keep giving military aid to Ukraine, to increase military spending and to offer to extend France’s nuclear deterrent to European partners. Their clearest disagreement is on civil nuclear power: Glucksmann supports building new reactors and Tondelier opposes it. They also differ on compulsory national service, which Glucksmann supports and Tondelier rejects; on legalising and regulating cannabis, she is in favour and he is neutral.
