Contact and corrections
How to write to us, what we review and how quickly we reply.
Affinité politique is a personal project. Write to contact@affinitepolitique.fr and a real person will reply, not an automated form. We usually reply within about two weeks.
Correcting a candidate’s position
This is the most useful message we can receive. The database of positions is reviewed using what people send us, and a well-documented correction is always applied. To check it, we need four things:
- The candidate and the specific question in the test.
- The position you think it should have on the 1-to-5 scale.
- The document that supports it: a page of the candidate’s programme or of a party document, a vote of their party’s group in the National Assembly (assemblee-nationale.fr) or the European Parliament, with its date, or a public statement, with a link if possible.
- Why you think the current position is wrong.
What we do with a correction
- We check the proposal against the source you give us.
- Where appropriate, we update the position and cite the document on the candidate’s profile.
- We record the review date on the profile, so you can see when it was last checked.
- We reply to you, whether or not the change is made, explaining why.
Right of reply
If you are named or referred to on this website, you can ask us to publish your reply. Write to contact@affinitepolitique.fr with “Right of reply” in the subject line; we publish it free of charge within three days, as explained in the legal notice.
Other reasons to write
- Press and media: use and citation of the aggregated data, and requests for information. The public data is in the barometer and can be cited with attribution.
- Funding: how the project is sustained and what rules advertising and donations would follow if they are ever introduced, as set out on the transparency page.
- Privacy and data protection: exercising your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, as explained in the privacy policy.
- Technical errors: if something on the site does not work, tell us which browser you use and what you were doing.
What we do not do
- We do not recommend who to vote for or answer questions such as “which candidate is right for me?”. The test gives a match percentage; the decision is yours.
- We do not speak on behalf of any candidate, party or campaign, or of the French electoral authorities, and we have no connection with them. If you are looking for a candidate’s official position, go to their campaign website.
- We do not accept advertising, sponsorship or funding from candidates, parties, party foundations or campaigns. No exceptions.
- We do not provide individual test data to anyone, except where required by law or a court order. We only publish aggregates with a minimum of one hundred responses per cell.
